What is Red Hill Roots Studio?

Red Hill Roots Studio is where art and nature meet. Every piece is handmade, rooted in curiosity, and crafted to bring a touch of wonder into your everyday space.

What are the sculptures made out of?

The base form is made with armature wire and aluminum foil, which is then covered in a layer of polymer clay. Details are then added with various clay tools. Mica powder, chalk pastels and acrylic paints are used to add color and depth. A matte or glossy sealer is then placed all over the piece to protect the colorants and details. Each piece varies on the exact material used to create it, see listings for specifics to each piece.

Are the sculptures durable?

While polymer clay is both durable and flexible, it is not indestructible. My pieces are designed to be touched and interacted with, allowing you to fully experience the sculpture. However, please handle with care and avoid applying excessive pressure or bending the pieces too much, as this may cause damage or breakage. All cloche sculptures come with a glass dome, this is to be handled extremely carefully, as I do not offer replacements.

Do you have a physical storefront or are you online only?

As of now, I only sell online at redhillrootsstudio.com

Who makes your products?

Every piece is handmade by me, Amanda Palmer, in my home studio. From sculpting and painting to packaging your order, I handle each step with care to make sure every item feels special and one-of-a-kind.

Do you restock sold-out items?

For sculptures, I do not. Each piece is one-of-a-kind—no two will ever be exactly alike. Some may be similar, but never identical. Stickers, however, may be restocked if there’s high demand.

Do you take commissions or custom orders?

No, at this time I do not take custom orders.

How can I contact you with questions?

How can I find out about new releases or restocks?

Sign up for Red Hill Roots Studio's monthly newsletter, where you'll be updated on upcoming designs and when release's will take place. You can also follow along on Instagram and Facebook for updates and a look at behind the scenes. My goal is to have new items released every 2 months.

How do you price your work?

Pricing is based on the hours I spend sculpting, refining, and finishing each piece, as well as the materials involved in its creation. I aim to price my work fairly while honoring the time and craftsmanship that go into every handmade piece.

How should I care for my sculpture/sticker/etc.?

Sculptures: Each sculpture is handmade and should be handled gently. Keep your piece indoors, out of direct sunlight, and away from moisture or extreme temperatures. To clean, lightly dust with a soft brush or cloth—avoid water or harsh cleaners. Display it on a stable surface, and if you ever need to store it, wrap it carefully to protect any delicate details.

Stickers: All stickers are printed on durable vinyl, but keeping them in good condition helps them last even longer. Apply to a clean, dry surface, and avoid constant exposure to water, heat, or direct sunlight to prevent fading or peeling.

Orders and Shipping

What is the return policy?

Unfortunately, all sales are final. If there are issues with your order or product, please reach out to me at: redhillrootsstudio@gmail.com with your order number and name in the subject line.

When will I get my order?

I will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.

How do I track my order?

Once your order is placed, packaged and shipped, you will receive an email with the tracking information for USPS.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price before you purchase.

Do you offer local pickup?

Yes, I do offer local pick up for customers who live close to the studio. There is an option to select at check out for local pick up.

Do you ship internationally?

Unfortunately, at this time I do not offer shipping internationally. I only offer domestic shipping for USA.

What shipping carriers do you use?

USPS only.

What if my item arrives damaged?

This should not happen, as I take all the precautions to keep each item safe as they travel to you. If this were to happen, please do not hesitate to contact me at redhillrootsstudio@gmail.com with your order number and name in the subject line.
